"The grief that does not speak gnaws at the heart until it breaks."
-William Shakespeare- English poet 1564-1616
ATEK eV offers several support options.
I would like to introduce them below.
HELPLINE FOR FAMILIES AND RELATIVES
The PTSD of our loved ones sometimes presents us with major challenges, and sometimes it becomes an emotional emergency.
For these situations, the helpline is available for the quickest possible contact. However, the number can also be called at any other time if needed. Thanks to our extensive network, we can also refer veterans and/or emergency responders to, for example, the trained case managers of our friends at the Green Devils Military Brotherhood!
Helpline for children, teenagers and parents
Children and young people experience daily life with PTSD in parents, siblings, etc., differently than adults, and parents also need support in coping with the sometimes stressful family situation caused by PTSD. Children, young people, and parents can contact Lena Sparwald via the helpline or WhatsApp to share their worries and concerns. She volunteers her time as a qualified social worker/social pedagogue.
As the daughter of a veteran suffering from PTSD, she is well aware of the problems and burdens faced by children and young people.
INDIVIDUAL CONSULTATIONS
Sometimes it's easier to talk face-to-face. If you're not yet comfortable speaking in a group, you can schedule an individual online appointment with me. Here, we can talk about what's on your mind in a safe and confidential space. Should you require more frequent, long-term support, our psychologists are available to provide voluntary counseling. You can register anytime using the contact form. I will get back to you promptly, usually within 24 hours.
ONLINE SELF-HELP GROUP FOR RELATIVES OF TRAUMATIZED SERVER VETERANS AND RESPONSE PERSONNEL
Simply listen and benefit from the experiences of others, or really vent your frustrations. Both are possible in my online self-help group. We meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 8 pm and share our experiences of daily life with our traumatized loved ones. It's a relaxed and safe space. Join us and sign up!
ONLINE SELF-HELP GROUP FOR TRAUMATIZED SERVICING VETERANS AND RESPONSE PERSONNEL
Led by my husband, Martin Thamm (PEER), the first online self-help group for traumatized emergency responders is taking place. It's an exchange on equal footing, from one person affected to another.
No one fights alone!
